Community Development in S’Yanam
The nearest village to the Ravva Onshore Terminal is Surasani Yanam (S'Yanam), which is located over 1 km away. The population of approximately 8,000 people is employed mainly in agriculture and fishing activities and is not directly affected by the project operation.
Cairn India and the Ravva JV (Joint Venture) instituted a community development plan through which they contribute annually to a fund administered by local district administration for improvement to local infrastructure such as schools. Cairn India also provides financial and direct assistance to various community development projects in S'Yannam, including improvement to school facilities and village water supply systems, the provision of medical care, and adult education and training facilities.
