Sustainable development and women's empowerment are globally important issues today. Entrepreneurship is a major factor in empowering women. Sustainable and environment sound business practices are being widely adopted in the developed world today. Non-tariff barriers for products from other countries that do not adopt environmentally sound practices are a major factor limiting their access to global markets, there is need for knowledge dissemination acquisition on sustainable business practices.
ALEAP has been awarded a grant under the EU-India Small projects Facility partnership with an international training and capacity building organization InWEnt of Koln, Germany. This project entitled EU-India Network of Women Entrepreneurs (EINWE) started on 22nd of December 2004.
